Clergy and Lay Minister Coaching

Leadership is a lonely place. Clergy members find this especially true. With a reputation to uphold and a ministry to protect, where does a minister find a confidential place to process the trials and temptations of ministry, without fear of repercussions?

Because most ministers have no place outside of the church or denomination, there are many who just hold it all in until finally tragedy strikes. Sometimes it is burnout. Other times it is yielding to a temptation that surprises and bewilders everyone close. And sometimes it is discouragement that eventually puts a pastor out to pasture.

So, how do we solve this?

Clergy Coaching

As a fellow Minister, Dave understands the need for a completely confidential place to process issues with a person who is not connected with a minister's church or denomination. In some cases, Clergy Coaching can help to avert the type of the devastating personal failures that can deeply damage a minister and a ministry. Positively, Clergy Coaching can facilitate continued personal development as ministers overcome blind spots and move forward.

     How it Works

Clergy coaching consists of a one hour phone conversation every week or two in order to provide direction, accountability, and confidential problem solving and personal growth. The coach asks the hard questions, gives proven direction, and provides a confidential place for a pastor to vent and process issues with a seasoned pastor who has walked the same road. The coach builds a relationship of trust with the minister, and listens without judging or reporting back to any body. The coach is there to help, to hold up the mirror, to give objective feed back, to question, to help you see things from another angle, and to draw out the best in you. (more about coaching)
